Butter Rum Cider

Warm up with a sweet and spicy spirited cider that you can have ready in minutes.
- Ingrediants
- 6 cups apple cider
- 1/2 tsp whole cloves
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup rum
Directions
- Heat cider, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon sticks to boiling in 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Strain cider mixture to remove cloves and cinnamon sticks if desired.
- For each serving, place 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 2 tablespoons rum in mug. Fill with hot cider.

Nice drink to sip on a cold wintery day or after dinner to wind down from the hectic day. I have made this drink several times this winter and we love it.
Delicious! Very sweet, so may try it without the sugar next time. Used spiced rum.
